My research interests are in the area of mouse genetics, comparative pathology, and the development and refinement of animal models of human diseases; however, as Head of Veterinary Services and Associate Director of Animal Resources, my responsibilities are primarily in the area of service. I also serve as the Faculty Advisor of the Small Animal Imaging Facility, which is a component of the LSU Health Sciences Center's Research Core Facility. This core provides rodent molecular imaging modalities for LSU Health Science Center faculty members. The Small Animal Imaging Facility has a Siemens MicroPET scanner that provides high-resolution positron emission tomography data for rodents, a Siemens MicroCat II MicroCT (computed tomography) and a Xenogen IVIS in vivo bioluminescence/fluorescence imager.
